7 Adventure Sports To Try Before You Die

Are you up for pure adrenaline rush?

The world has moved beyond sightseeing while on vacation; more and more people prefer to travel with adventure on agenda, which makes their trip memorable and eventful. Before planning your next holiday, consider these adventure sports that are meant for some serious adrenaline junkies.

1. Spelunking

Spelunking, also known as caving is a very rare sport which involves discovering new caves. It’s not as simple as it sounds; it’s often done in groups as a part of team building.

Where: Some of the best places in the world to do spelunking are Kangur Ice cave in Russia, Son Doong Cave in Vietnam, Karjini in Australia, Crystal caves in Iceland and of course you can discover some more on your own.

Equipments required: Nylon Ropes, climbing harness, torch, helmet and other basic gears.

2. Rock Climbing

Although Rock climbing is a known sport, the recent advancements in the sport are quite unknown. Earlier practiced with ropes and equipments, some professionals are scaling giant rocks with just their bare hands. Think of doing it only if you’re extremely fit, by that I mean you better have 8 pack abs.

Where: Literally any rock of your choice. But if having a scenic beauty around is a must then try rock climbing at Red River George (USA), Silver Mountain (USA), Mount Temple (Jerusalem), Himalayas (India), Yangshou (China).

Equipments required: Ropes, harness, shoes and courage. Lots and lots of courage.

3. Canyoning

Canyoning is basically following the trail of canyon and discovering nature along the trail of water. It could be done using various methods like walking, scrambling, jumping, rappelling, swimming etc. It’s a niche sport, as scenic canyons are not found in every corner of the earth. Water lovers are surely in for a treat, and most importantly, it doesn’t require you to be extremely fit. One can experience this sport while enjoying a nice burger on the way!

Where: Some of the best places for Canyoning are Verdon George (France), Blue Mountains (Australia), Suze Valley (Italy), Cape Town (South Africa).

Equipments required: Same old helmet, ropes, swimsuit and extreme zest.

4. Glacier Climbing

Yes you heard it right; it is an adventure sport and by far the coolest adventure sport on this list, literally. It’s like mountain climbing but way different, as it requires knowledge of glaciers and weather. It is advisable to do this sport with the help of a guide or training schools.

Where: Josteda Ice Cap (Norway), Vatnajökull (Iceland).

Equipments required: Crampons, ice axes, harnesses and of course safety ropes.

5. Base Jumping

Base Jumping is termed as the most dangerous sport in the world and it is also illegal in many countries. The term Base stands for buildings or bridges or any low altitude structures. It is termed as a risky sport because the jumper has only few seconds before pulling the parachute.

Where: Eiffel Tower (France), Kjerag (Norway), The Dolomites (Italy) and anywhere else where cops can’t catch you.

Equipments required: Umm… Let me guess, a Parachute?

6. Paragliding

Although Paragliding is a very popular sport, not all of us have got a chance to experience it. It’s extremely important to pick a scenic place for Paragliding as it is the only USP of this sport. You deserve to fancy a visual delight from the sky.

Where: Queenstown (New Zealand), Gironde (France), Seiser Alm (Italy), DAnyang (South Korea), Panchgani (India).

7. Zorbing

Zorbing is the most exciting and overwhelming adventure sport. It doesn’t really get your adrenaline high but it is surely one of the wackiest sports on our list. Zorbing is basically rolling down a hill inside an inflatable ball. Don’t worry about breaking your backs, it is lightweight and shock absorbent, so you can sit back and roll with comfort.

Where: Manali (India), USA and Guam (Micronesia).
