Where To Go On Your First Tinder Date In Delhi

Guess what? First dates don’t have to be awkward

Congratulations! You swiped right and found someone that gives you butterflies; or at the very least doesn’t make you run screaming in the opposite direction.

Banter has begun, hints have been dropped and gifs have been shared but the question remains: where do you meet? We’ve got ideas — ice-breaking, romantic, fun, and safe tips for your first Tinder date:

1. Monkey Bar

The city equivalent of lying in the grass staring up at the stars (and also, in this polluted city? A safer bet), Monkey Bar is laid-back, has great food and drinks, not to mention a little section with a pool and foosball table.

Let your date show you a few snooker tricks, or if you’re already good, get a little competitive. The perfect ice-breaker.

2. Yes Minister

Speaking of competitive, we’re big believers that engaging in a fun game makes everything a little less awkward. Case in point, bowling at Yes Minister, with a couple of beer pints in tow.

Whether you ace the game or make a fool of yourself it’ll be a laugh all-round, no doubt.

3. Blue Tokai

Romance is brewing, and so is really, really good coffee.

Head to Blue Tokai for a cuppa to bond over, and if you want to kick things up a notch, enrol in their monthly brewing 101 session. Learn a little about coffee, and about your date.

4. Pianoman Jazz Club

If you and potential bae both love music, then at evening at the Pianoman Jazz Club should definitely be on the cards.

With their cosy ambience and first-class acts, you can listen first and then analyse later. Their food and cocktails are worth writing home about too; we recommend the Mary Pickford.

5. Dilli Haat

For a quintessential Delhi date that’s also easy on the pocket, a daytime trip to Dilli Haat is perfect.

Pick a day when the weather’s fairly enjoyable, stroll through lanes of artefacts and hit up as many food stalls as possible, of course.

6. National Rail Museum

The newly revamped Rail Museum isn’t just the ultimate #throwback date, it’s also a chance to be a little silly and goofy with your date.

Embark on a short little ride, and stroll through the exhibits. Plenty of quirky photo opportunities with this one too!

7. Tonino

For people with a penchant for a candlelit dinner, and roomy pockets, hit up Tonino on MG road. The rustic, Italian-style restaurant is quiet, very romantic and offers up delicious food.

Gaze into each other’s eyes and let the conversation meander. Word to the wise: don’t leave without sampling their dessert menu.

8. Di Ghent

For the early bird (looking to get the worm), Di Ghent is the spot to have a quick breakfast date. Their food is remarkable (as is the coffee) and the bright, cheery interiors will brighten up your day, and your date.
