Now that the first half of the year is over, the gyms are starting to get empty again, and the fitspiration is running low. Needless to say that Instagram is one of the best places to find yourself some encouragement to get off that couch and get moving.
Whether you’re into yoga, running, crossfit, or bodybuilding, following these Indian Instagrammers will give you just the push you need to get in shape for the festive months ahead. (In no particular order):
1. Deepika Mehta
Deepika practices and teaches Ashtanga yoga. The visual landscape of her Instagram profile is just outstanding.
She makes complex yoga postures look so easy, with each photograph having the backdrop of a scenery out of a postcard! The sheer aesthetics of her profile will drive you to sign up for a yoga class.
2. Devrath Vijay
Devrath is a believer of functional training and conditioning techniques to strengthen your body. This means his workouts mimic everyday functional activities like climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, walking, running.
Outfit, the Bangalore-based gym started by Devrath, is where he trains his students by focusing on strength, flexibility, and mobility, rather than being associated with bulging biceps and ripped abs.
3. Ayesha Billimoria
Better known by her Instagram alias, Fit Girl, Ayesha is the captain of the Adidas Runners Club in Mumbai.
For those of you who need that push to get up and go for a run, give her a follow. If that won’t suffice, you can always sign up for one of her organised runs in the city, or even her personal training sessions.
4. Ranveer Allahbadia
As his Instagram name suggests (Beer Biceps), you can expect to see some great guns on his profile. For those who get that rush from pumping iron, follow him for incredibly motivational photographs and videos of his weight training journey.
5. Navreet Josan
Ignore those who say weight training makes women bulky! Breaking down every stereotype, Navreet is a bodybuilding and bikini competitor. Her Instagram profile makes you envious of her toned body and inspires you to work on your own.
6. Ajinkya Meher
It’s not often that you see men who are flexible – that’s why Ajinkya is different. He is a yoga teacher at The Yoga Institute. Every photo and video of his practice is better than the next, and he makes it look so easy.
7. Neha Agarwalla
Neha is the co-founder and coach at the 303 Crossfit Drive in Mumbai. At her crossfit box, everyday is different, with a new WOD (workout of the day) for clients at every level.
Her Instagram stories are honest, and she isn’t afraid to show it when she fails at a certain exercise. It’s almost as if you’re rooting for her to set new PRs everyday.
8. Natasha Noel
Natasha is one hell of a motivator (aside from being an incredible yogini). She’s the person whose Instagram stories you should look at, when you wake with no motivation to go for that morning workout.
Attend one of her classes or workshops to get a real time feel of her energy.
