7 Jogging Tracks In Pune To Get Your Fit On

Make the most of Pune’s cool weather with an outdoor workout

You’ve tied the laces on your shoes, put those dri-fits on, and are ready to hit the road in #fitfam mode. But wait, is that a traffic jam with blaring horns? Where do you go now? The treadmills at the gym don’t do it for you, and now you need to make your way through all this noise and pollution!

If this is your dilemma, worry not. We’ve found you seven of the best jogging tracks in Pune for a refreshing workout:

1. Race Course

A popular destination for derby lovers, the race course at the Royal Western India Turf Club doubles as a massive running track for fitness freaks. What’s more — a field in the middle of the 2.4 km track allows you to do yoga, crossfit and other exercises too.

Location: Race Course at RWITC, 6, Arjun Marg, Camp

Hours: 6.30 am – 8.30 am, 6 pm – 8 pm

2. University of Pune Running Track

There is an entire campus full of lush green trees that can serve as your personal running ground. There’s also a running track inside the campus that is a favourite with many joggers.

The entire campus is safe and huge, and many opt for running in the campus rather than on the tracks. Take your pick!

Location: University of Pune, Ganeshkhind

Hours: 6.30 am – 5 pm

3. Joggers Park Kalyani Nagar

Situated right in the middle of the hustle-bustle of Kalyani Nagar, this park is almost always packed with fitness enthusiasts on their jogs and walks. It’s easy to see why they opt for this beautiful green stretch to catch a break from city life.

Location: Kalyani Nagar

Hours: 6 am – 10 am, 4 pm – 8.30 pm

4. Matoshree Ramabai Bhimrao Ambedkar Udyan

The 500-metre track has been a favourite amongst locals, kids and senior citizens alike, since the day it opened.

As it is located opposite the Wadia Group of Colleges, it is a popular haunt for students too. The park also has a play-area with benches, where people can hang out and catch a breather.

Location: Central Excise Colony, Sangamvadi

Hours: 6 am – 11 am, 4 pm – 8 pm

5. Hanuman Tekdi

If you’re anywhere close to Law College Road, you could get a serious workout by running up a hill.

Situated away from the chaotic city roads and sounds, this elevated track offers a peaceful workout that we’re sure you’ll grow to love.

Location: Law College Road, Shivajinagar

Hours: Open all day (but morning and early evening are the best times to visit)

6. BMCC Grounds

You’ll see the grounds packed with people of all ages, catching up with each other in large groups, or simply going about their fitness routines.

This track has been a local favourite for many years. Many sportsmen see it as an ideal training ground too.

Location: BMCC College, Shivajinagar

Hours: 6.30 am – 5 pm

7. Canal Road

The left bank canal of the Mutha River parallel to Karve Road has transformed from a dump-land to a beautiful garden.

Frequented by runners and health enthusiasts, this 6-acre land has a great jogging track lined with trees.

Location: Karve Nagar, Deccan Gymkhana

Hours: Open all day

While there are a lot of smaller parks all around Pune, these are our top picks. So, which one are you heading to?
