December is the best month of the year, don’t you agree? The weather is fabulous, people are nicer and there’s some event or party to attend almost every week. Which means rivers of booze and plates of unhealthy food, and a whole lot of after-guilt.

Even though you are right — December is a fun month! — here’s the deal: Your body doesn’t know or care about the fact that you have given yourself a leeway. Nutritionist Payal Sinha confirms the trend. “Most people tend to forget their diet and relax their workout regime during the “party season” with the promise of eating healthy from January. But still, the body suffers immensely because the consumption of junk food and alcohol increases by almost 50%”.

300 x 250

Yes, 50 %! But the again, you have all those weddings and parties to attend, where you can’t really ask (or expect) gluten-free pizza. Neither do you want to be the wet blanket refusing their third drink.

While the long-term solution for this is watching yourintake (surprise, surprise!) and exercise, we’ve also got a few handy shortcuts here. These five Ayurvedic detox drinks are simple to whip up, but a great way to detox your system after partying for three nights in a row. If you’re expecting a really full calendar this month, stock up on these ingredients and give your body the recharge it needs.
